Each year, the Anacostia Community Boathouse Association (ACBA), takes time out at the holidays to celebrate the successes in our community and honor those who have helped us achieve. We also put up the lights on the house to celebrate the holiday season.
This award goes to an individual in the community who has made extraordinary contributions to restore the river, promote the natural and recreational resource, and/or assisted in the development and growth of the boathouse and maritime activity.

This award recognizes significant contributions in community service, including developing and implementing innovative learn-to-row, learn-to-paddle, or other educational programs targeted to the at-large community. The recipient of this award is actively engaged in programs and activities that exemplify ACBA’s spirit of community service and volunteerism.

This award recognizes significant contributions in the areas of environmental and site stewardship, awareness, and education—demonstrated through a commitment to enhancing and improving the environmental health of the Anacostia watershed, or through significant commitment to improving and developing ACBA’s physical plant.
